Thank you for expressing interest in employment and/or workamping opportunities at Hart Ranch Camping Resort Club! We are happy to tell you about our operation.

Hart Ranch Resort is a 195-acre, private membership Resort nestled in the original 13,000 acre historic Hart Ranch established in the late 1800s. We are proud to say we are a 5-Star Resort. Our facilities include 459 full hook-up recreational vehicle camping sites, several types of rental cabins, an Olympic-size, heated swimming pool, three hot tubs, a children's pool, tennis courts, basketball courts, an 18-hole miniature golf course, volleyball court, horseshoes, a cafeteria-style restaurant, snack bar, convenience store, five bathhouses with individual, private areas for showers, and seven laundry facilities.

If you are interested in applying for a position in more than one department, you need only complete one application indicating the different departments of interest. Each departmental supervisor interviews and hires their staff.

Business Office

Hart Ranch Resort - Business OfficeThe Business Office is responsible for all administrative, accounting, and financial matters for the Resort. An expeditor (town runner) is hired through this department to handle the required daily trips to town for various errands and duties.  

Reservations Staff

Hart Ranch Resort - Reservations StaffThe Reservations Staff is the first contact our guests or members have with Hart Ranch Resort. This department handles the guest's check-ins, check-outs, as well as making computerized reservations. The available positions are highly visible and are the foremost source of information for our guests regarding the area attractions and the Resort Bylaws, Rules, and Regulations. A smile can go a long way! The information desk is also in the Lodge and is the main source of information for our guests on park events, as well as the entire Black Hills region and the great State of South Dakota. A majority of our summer guests are from out of state and look to the information desk for ideas of area events and attractions.

Hart Mart

Hart Ranch Resort - Hart MartThe Hart Mart is the on-site country store with all the conveniences of a small grocery store/gift shop/gas station combination. Duties in the Hart Mart include cashier duties as well as stocking shelves and other general "store" duties. Quality customer service and product knowledge are important. This position requires standing for long periods of time. 

Housekeeping (Comfort Station Attendants)

Hart Ranch Resort - HousekeepingThe Resort has 60+ rental units on the property. The housekeeping staff handles general cleaning and laundry duties for these units as well as the five comfort stations, the pool bathhouse, laundries, and the Lodge building. Being self-motivated, a team player, and a willing and dedicated worker are key.

Workampers play a key role in the housekeeping department. Not only are workampers integral in the laundry positions within the department, but also, workampers have exclusively cared for the comfort stations during the past couple of seasons, and have met with great success! Maintenance

Hart Ranch Resort - MaintenanceOur maintenance team handles all of the grounds keeping duties, as well as building maintenance and repairs, general plumbing and carpentry work, and pool maintenance. Self-motivation, a good knowledge of operating mowers and weed eaters, ability to lift 50 pounds, and the ability to work without constant supervision is vital.

Security

Security is provided for our members and guests 24 hours per day, in season. Security includes patrol of the Resort and gatehouse duties. Our security staff is also trained to handle all emergency situations that arise. A good knowledge of safety, CPR techniques, a friendly, professional smile, and the ability to work well with the public are premiums.

Activities

Hart Ranch Resort - ActivitiesThe Activities department provides our members with the entertainment and events that create a "vacation that lasts a lifetime!" Activity department positions range from manning the activity shed (equipment checkout, novelty sales, activity sign up sheets), to coordinating our Junior Camper Activity Program, to aiding in organizing of events. Lots of energy, exuberance, and a little craziness are required!! Our many workampers are the crux of this department! 

Pool

Hart Ranch Resort - PoolPrior training in Red Cross Senior Lifesaving, working with children and adolescents in conditioning activities, and people skills are vital. Employees will enforce pool rules, ensure accurate chemical readings, and maintain water safety at all times. 

Chuckwagon Restaurant

Hart Ranch Resort - Chuckwagon RestuarantThe Chuckwagon is a limited service (cafeteria-style) facility. Traditionally, the Chuckwagon has been operated almost exclusively by workampers and is open for breakfast daily, and evening meals a couple of days per week, featuring a special entrée. Food prep, cleanup, serving line duties, and minimal dining room service are required. In conjunction with the restaurant, a snack bar serves from mid-day thru the evening hours.

Sales

Hart Ranch Resort - SalesThe Resort Sales Department handles all marketing tours, promotional stays, and public relations in regards to the Resort's memberships. Positions available will be clerical or tour-related.
